Community Initiatives

From time to time, OTX Systems takes on initiatives for the general benefit of the MapGuide community.  These initiatives are funded by direct donations from MapGuide Open Source community members.  Specific funding goals are set at the start of each initiative based on an estimate of the work required.  Once an initiative is fully funded, or fully pledged and partially funded, work will begin.

Community members can fund an initiative immediately through a PayPal donation or a cheque made out in Canadian funds.  If you would like to fund an initiative immediately, please donate through PayPal using the button for the initiative.  If PayPal is not a viable option, please email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to make alternate arrangements.  Immediately funding an initiative allows the work to progress in a "pay as you go" fashion.

Alternatively, community members can show support for an initiative by pledging a donation.  Once the funding goal has been reached, OTX Systems will ask all pledges to make their donations.  As pledge money is received, work will progress on the initiative.  If you would like to pledge a donation, please use the Initiative Pledge Form from the menu.

Once an initiative is fully funded or pledged, a project page will be set up so the community can see visible signs of progress as work is completed.  Donors contributing $50 or more have the option of having their name listed at the top of the project page in recognition of their support.

Please note:  Refunds are typically not given for initiative donations.  However, if an initiative is not successfully funded/pledged, donations can be applied to other initiatives or used to pay for sub-contracted work supplied by OTX Systems.  Unfortunately, OTX Systems is not a charitable organization and cannot issue charitable donation receipts.

Here is the current list of initiatives OTX Systems is interested in pursuing:
