OTX Systems provides OTXGIS™ Software Development and implementation and consulting services for MapGuide Open Source and Autodesk MapGuide® Enterprise.  MapGuide is a freely available, web-based, GIS mapping package capable of meeting a wide range of business needs.

Implementation and consulting services include unexpected behaviour resolution, map analysis, tuning, and multi-user simulation.  Development services include new feature development and existing feature enhancement.

Services can be provided in-house for Canada and United States based clients.  Services can also be provided remotely with correspondence in english via email or telephone.  Worldwide english speaking clients are welcome.  OTX Systems will make an effort to communicate during mutually agreeable times.  Rates are negotiated based on complexity, length, and location of the project.

If your needs go beyond what MapGuide Open Source has to offer today, OTX Systems can extend its functionality by developing customized features to meet your business requirements.  Trevor Wekel is a member of the Project Steering Committee and will work with you and the open source community to ensure that MapGuide meets your requirements.  The length of the consulting engagement will depend on your requirement set.

Implementation and Consulting Services

MapGuide is a complex and highly configurable n-tier software stack.  It supports a wide range of data types and can be used in a variety of different applications.   Some of these applications include property management, natural resource management, services dispatch, and generation of web-based realty reports.

Due to the wide variety of data types and applications, it can be difficult to estimate the performance of a MapGuide server under a multi-user load.  In many cases the answer to "how many users can I support?" can only be detemined by prototyping and load testing.

OTX Systems can help.  A prototype setup can be created on hosted virtual machines, or in-house.  Testing, tuning and analysis of the application will likely lead to suggestions on implementation improvements such as changes to the map content, or changes to the data sources used.  Multi-user simulations can be performed on the prototype setup to ensure appropriate scalabilty under the anticipated user loads.

Simulation and testing may also uncover unexpected behaviour.  This behaviour can be corrected during the implementation phase to ensure that your MapGuide-based GIS mapping project continues to move forward.  Patches or complete builds of MapGuide Open Source can be provided.

Consulting and implementation services are quoted based on statement of work and project duration.  For longer term projects, OTX Systems can track and invoice services on a monthly basis.  Payment options currently include cheque or PayPal.  Please contact OTX Systems by phone or email to discuss your project requirements.
